Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone could advise me on what I could do on the following please,
9/12/09 – Phone replaced for new
24/01/09 – Keys not responding
20/02/10 – Keys not responding again
28/09/09 – No signal
29/12/09 – Dropped phone off to store to be repaired
-Emailed same day enquiring about exchange
30/12/09 – Received email back off customer support, saying exchanged granted
31/12/09 –Went into store to pick up phone, told been locked away in locker only manager can open, asked to come back 2/01/10
2/01/10 – Went into store to pick up phone, been told phone has been sent off, told to check online or call into store about repair but they never answer
-Complaint sent through email about above
-Received email off customer support saying they have forwarded my complaint to the store manager to investigate
3/01/10 to 21/01/10 – Checked online repair tracker, status never changed to being complete so emailed asking where is my phone
26/01/10 – Received reply back off customer support saying the phone has been ready since the 5th
26/01/10 - Sent complaint as to why store has not contacted me about the phone being ready since the 5th and that I will be contacting trading standards
26/01/10 – Contacted trading standards for help
15/02/10 – Received email off trading standard and gave details, which they then sent a letter to Carphone Warehouse
09/03/10 - And since then to now, just only get a reply off Carphone Warehouse saying they will let me cancel for free, which would normally cost £64.20.
I'd like to add that I am still using a standby phone, which is a cheap nokia and have used one in the past, in previous repairs.
I am on an 18 month contract paying £30 using a Sony C905. I like to also add the store I went to was rude and treated me like a child, they would never answer the phone when I called to ask if my phone was ready, and they have still not contacted me about my phone being ready..
So the reply back from them letting me cancel for free which would normally cost £64.20, just in my eyes is ridiculous when I signed up to a contract on the phone I wanted, not a cheap standby phone which I have used for nearly in total 4 months I think, thats £30 a month on a cheap nokia you could get on a £10 a month contract..
What can I do now as I feel trading standards have done what they can.
I don't want to give in to their offer as I feel that I can take this further as a matter of principle and getting an agreeable compensation..
I hope someone can help with this as this is driving me up the wall..
Thanks all
