Insurance band 1 will be cheapest cars but that is out of date really now insurance is 1-50 for groups and not 1-20 as previously, so Group 2 and 3 are still fairly cheap too.
Insurance depends on more factors than engine size- car age for example matters too, new cars are generally more expensive.0 -
If she is learning in your car try these peeps it is her own policy
and pay Bi monthly

Fortis do a policy whereby you can insure a learner driver for 90 days at a time. I did this for my son and it worked out about £40 per month while he was learning.0

We had a similar thing with our daughter very recently. She is learning to drive and we wanted to put her on our insurance to drive our car, as buying her own car is not an option at the moment. My insurance company were quoting rediculous figures, so hubby shopped around on the internet and found a very good price with Elephant (www.elephant.co.uk). The excess is high, but fingers crossed she won't have a bump. We moved to them and she is now out on the open road with her L Plates at every opportunity. Suggest you give them a try. first one was cheaper for us, as my daughter has her own car.
They will only insure learners, and as well as insuring her car, if she has one, she can have a policy on a car you own, and already have on your own insurance.
A lot cheaper than provisionalmarmalade for us as well.
There have been a few good threads on new drivers insurance on here recently.0 -
Beware of companies that give you what looks to be a cheap quote whilst she is still on a provisional licence, they may well increase it a lot when she passes her test (we got caught out by Quinn like this).loose does not rhyme with choose but lose does and is the word you meant to write.0
