Ford still havent fixed our car......HELP!!!
Really need some advice, on route to work 2 weeks yest, the wipers stopped working on our 08 plate Focus Titanium. The AA came out through Ford Recovery and said they couldnt fix it and we were to take it to our nearest dealer. Ford had our car for 4 days without them even looking at it and refusing to give us a courtesy car and we never received a call from them either. We called on the 5th day and got told that they had ordered the motor and were fixing that day. It wasnt fixed that day or the next and eventually got a courtesy car. Got told that it still wasnt fixed and they were having to order a computer or module for it and it should be there the next day. It was and it fixed the wipers but when we called they said we didnt have any central locking or couldnt open the boot. Handy!! They said that they had ordered the wrong computer and were ordering the new one the next day as they had missed the deadline for that day, when Hubby asked for a estimated time he got told to " not bother asking as we dont know". That was last Thursday. Got told they would call monday morning and they didnt. Hubby called n they said that they were waitin on a new fuse box??? and that it would be ready today.. Guess what.....it isnt as the technician is off sick. Really getting to the end our tethers at the so many conflicting stories we're getting. What can we do to get our car back?? Surely a car of that age shouldnt be having that all wrong with it anyway???
PLEASE HELP

Sounds like you're getting a brand new car with all these new parts. Have they given you a clue to the final bill, or is it all under warranty?0 -
Still under warranty, thats a blessing like.....just want our car back. To top it off they substitute our car for a rank 1.2 fiesta....costin a fortune in petrol...not a happy bunny!!!0

Contact Ford Head Office Customer Services, they may have the power to get the dealer to give you a rental car and get things shifted along with the parts and fitting.I beep for Robins - Beep Beep
& Choo Choo for trains!!0 -
Think we're gonna have to. They've had it 2 weeks now and we're no further forward and getting told a load of different stories from different people. It only went in with broken wipers now they've made it worse!!!0

Phone ford customer services - the numbers on the website.
Open a case, ask for a reference number.
If you havent spoken to them they wont know its an issue. Dealers never phone them up to say we are useless and cant fix a basic fault - thats the customers job.
Ask them for compensation for your car being off the road for 2 weeks. Its unacceptable. Push for your next service free of charge.
Which dealer is it at - my guess is when you tell us we wont be surprised.0 -
Thanks for the advice, we called last night and guess what, they've ordered the wrong part again or is it just an excuse??? who knows. its the TC Harrisons dealership in Stamford. lets see what excuse they come up with today. I'll keep you posted.0

just a quick update, in contact with Ford Direct and have a case handler and reference number. they called fri morning to say that Ford Stamford have received the 2 new parts and it should be ready that afternoon and that she'd call on Monday to find out how we got on. guess what.......still no car and still no phone call either. Wonder what Ford Directs excuse will be for them tomorrow morning???0

You take the car back, you point out the list of faults, you supply them with a letter stating the exact list of faults, and you insist that it be repaired.
Make it clear to them that you will continue to be a pain in their backside until it is fixed and fully working. Don't take any nonsense from them, because a faulty alarm may invalidate your insurance.
Oh and you want a courtesy car, and you will not return it until your car is fully repaired.0 -
I would pursue this via ford direct - the garage are incapable. Perhaps its time to consider exploring rejecting the car on the basis that they have been unable to fix it in a reasonable period?0
