Rule 7 might answer all the questions you have. There is no method - it is completely random. Prize are allocated at set designated times throughout the day. Therefore, even if you click on all of the toilet rolls during the "no prize" time, you won't find the little pesky koala.

Rule 7: (can't copy so typing it out)

Players are required to select 5 Cushelle toilet rolls from the prize area clearly indicated on-screen. If a Koala appears behind one of the selected rolls the player wins. Prizes have been randomly allocated on a time basis and are awarded to the entrant immediately following the pre-selected winning moment. Any unclaimed prizes will be added to the following day's prize total.
