I've been looking for places to sell cards as well. I have plenty to sell, just nowhere to sell them. Apparently markets and car boot sales are good places but I'm yet to try either of those.0

Hi guys,
Wi-Cycle it is a free auction site. It's along the same lines as e-bay, but there are no fees at all!
Wi-cycle it
It's quite a new site, but it won't cost you anything so worth a try!
I've sold a couple of items and also bought a couple
Hope this helps

The purpose of Wi-cycle, as far as I can tell, it not for business sellers, but rather an auction style Freecycle. I think you might get into hot water if you try selling product on there, rather than recycling your unwanted goods. Pity, would have been nice to find an alternative selling avenue.

Jellybaby, I don't have the courage to ask in shops either, although many years ago I manage to sell some costume jewellery at a very busy library. I used to hire a lockable display cabinet and the librarians collected the money for me. Once a week I changed the display, put some more new stuff and collected my money. I did it for about 5 or 6 weeks and it made me feel happy that some people were buying things I made.
Now I'd like to sell in shops, etc but want to look more professional when approaching those places. It's been such a long time since I've done it, that I need to regain my confidence. I need to make many samples, practice my sales pitch and arrange the items in an attractive display or gift boxes before I approach them.
Good luck!0 -
Just have the courage to ask in shops. You'll never know unless you try. Trust in your crafts as well as in yourself.0

Look in to local school Fayres, our PTA charge stall holders around £10 to 'rent' a table and sometimes a donation of a raffle prize. Everything you sell you get to keep the money you make. We do a summer Fayre and Christmas one as well. Good luck.:)0

Hi there,
I also used big cartel.
I used to sell cards while I was at university. Let me tell you if they are good enough and unique enough they will sell.
I set up a shop on bigcartel which had about 5 items in it. This later increased to 10. On bigcartel. I linked my blog. I know big cartel is in dollars. But you can make your shop in pounds. It also has good tracking so you know what stock you have left. As my blog attracted mainly english visiters most my sales where from UK, I did have some from europe and america.
In my blog I did tutorials with links to my shop. So people would buy card kits for certain cards they saw a tutorial from. I also blogged about other sellers too when needed. Keeps a good interest rate with the blog. I also did tutorials about how to make origami items, boxes flowers that type of thing.
I made about £10 per week with google adds. I think you needed 60 to cash out, but around every 6 weeks ish I
Then I made a further £25 ish from selling items. Only £35 a week but it helped with my studies.
I don't have the shop now as I worked full time when I finished uni and after a stint of unemployment I am not working full time. But I still have my blog (which is not updated since 2008) and that actually still brings in £4-5 a week on average.
You asked about big cartel and how people find your shop. Well first of all people can find you in directory. Then list random pages on their front page. As well as newly listed items. But there are tools where you can see where people came from. I would say about 60% blog. 30% big cartel and 10% other.
But just try it. List 5 items. It doesnt take long and its free. Then if you want just forget about it. You'll prob have an email within a week or two with someone bought a card. Worth a go.
Also I sooooo wished I had it at the time but there is a whole post on this forum about blogging and ads. Really useful.
I think you should also pluck up the courage to get selling in shops. Gyms, hairdressers, cafes etc.
Don't use ebay no one buys, etsy is always an option. But I do not know fee's etc.Current Debt (8th March) = [STRIKE]£940 £910 725 104[/STRIKE] + £290
