Settlement offer from LLoydsTSB

This morning I have received a letter from LLoydsTSB solicitors stating that they will make me a full and final settlement offer but this figure they have given me is approx 500.00 less than i worked it out to be on the excel sheet provided by BAG. The full amount should e just over 2963.00. Is this a normal tactic for LLoydsTSb only all the posts i have read are saying settled in full? I'm worried in case i have stuffed up somewhere. Added to that if they pay it into the account which they say they will which is on a DMP at the mo with CCCS i will lose approx 300 of this money which are charges which LTSB have added on whilst the DMP has been going. They have already told me they will accept 200 as a !!!!!!, the total amount is approx 500.00. Can i insist they pay me by cheque and not into the account? Any advise welcome as i'm very confused. TIA

So is the amount you have paid in charges £2963 or £500. If I were you I would only settle for the amount I hade been charged. As for insisting on being paid by cheque... if you were to close the account they would have to pay you by some other means other than credit to the account, which would probably be a cheque.

Hope you don't mind me asking but ..... how long after you did your small claims action is it ? My O/H has filed his allocation questionnaire but hasn't got a Court date yet, and we've heard nothing from Lloyds.

By the way, I'd hold out for the full amount of charges. Everything I've read says they do cough up eventually, but 'try it on' a lot.

    Good Luck
  • I filled my allocation questionnaire for 12 July i received the offer yesterday 24 July. HTH

Does anyone have a letter at all for refusing the offer and saying you want the whole amount paying back, please?
  • Dunno about Lloyds TSB but HSBC did this offering part settlement then once I said only full settlement - they straight away offered full amount.

They ain't going to go to court about this so YOU WILL get the full payment just hang onto your nerves!
