I was under the impression that there was nowhere to hide from the CSA if you are in the forces - as people in the forces in effect work for a government agency if they refuse to pay it is easy for the CSA just to take the money anyway whether the NRP can afford it or not - I heard of a Corporal who's money was increased by a huge amount in order to pay of his arrears within the 2 year time limit. The CSA just arranged to take it out of his wages, and he was left with practially nothing to live on and there was nothing he could do about it.

Technically there is nowhere to hide, but in practice, it is not true.
For many it is easier to pay up and shut up :)

its the systems fault not the nrp, by the sounds of it he was paying cs, and the csa !!!!!!ed it up, not the nrp

I think it is more the case that the MoD will not do anything at the moment because as the person is out in theatre, his means of communication and time for doing anything is very limited. He would have problems if he wanted to question/object to anything.

It is more a case of protecting the serviceman by not giving him further things to worry about while getting shot at. When he returns from theatre everything will probably get backdated.

seems to me the problem here has been the csa's handling of the case.

If the mum has managed for a long time without consistent financial support, surely she could manage til end of tour and then deal with this head on? i dont think theres anything to be achieved by pursuing this whilst dad is on tour, his ability to take action is very limited and his mind DOES need to be fully on the job in hand- not only for his own sake but for that of the those he serves alongside.

also its very easy to knock the dad in these situations.....he's no good he should pay and so on and so forth but lest face it the mums pick these men to have children with....you pick em and now you deal with them-warts and all!

oh to add......could it be he is refusing to contribute because csa are still taking from him, but its not being paid to mum? i have heard of this kind of error before!

LOL - I doubt there are too many prospective partners/parents to be that come with a big label 'future deadbeat parent' stuck to their foreheads! :D

    hindsights a wonderful thing!
Be who you are, say what you feel, those who mind don't matter, those who matter don't mind.
