hi everyone,
does anyone know where I can get some cheap(ish) tickets to Warwick Castle - keep trying to get the ones that have 30% off on lastminute.com, but the page won't load and it keeps going onto spa and pampering page.
Is there any other sites or discounts available that anyone know of?
Many thanks

You have to sign up for cokezone and it is 5 points for the 2for1 voucher, but they usually give you 5 points for just filling in the survey at the start. I have found in the past that the vouchers are generic, so just save to your computer so you can print off more than one if you need it.0 -
thank you so much - have just printed it out and saved myself £20 - thank you thank you!!!! x:j0

Have you ever been to Warwick Castle MsDee? My Husband and I almost went last year. I say almost because we didn't know in advance that we were going and balked about the exortinate prices! Especially when they wanted to charge extra to get into the bit he most wanted to see.
Anyway, that aside, just wanted to tell you a bit about the parking. Its not till you go through the barrier that you find out that its a 15 minute walk to the castle, uphill through some woods and you can't get out till you have been up there to get a special token for the car park. Its worth bearing that in mind especially if you have children that they might need to use the toilet and won't be able to till they get to the top. (or go behind a tree).
The cafe is pretty damn pricey too so take sandwiches if even they are shop bought.0 -
:DHi there,
No it's our first time going to the castle. We are staying in Leamington Spa for the weekend and are planning to visit their one of the days. Thanks for the tips about parking - just noticed that it's £6 to park on site - eekk!!
And double thanks about the sandwiches - hate paying the best part of a fiver for s/wiches that I could make at home ten times better.
Boyf is SO extragavant tho, and would not even think about the voucher and would pay for the nose for food there, so I am pleased with the voucher and the heads up about the s/wiches, I will hopefully save us a little bit - every penny helps!!!
Thank you xxxxx0 -
If you are visiting the castle the car park at St Nicholas Park on the way into Warwick is cheaper - and its just across the road from one of the gates into the castle. Its a lovely park as well if its a nice day.0

A quick tip for the future.
Tesco Clubcard vouchers can be exchanged for tickets to Warwick Castle. £5.00 of Clubcard vouchers will get you 1 ticket to Warwick Castle0 -
The side streets before you get to the castle (coming from the motorway with the castle entrance on your right) have street parking. If you don't mind annoying locals (never bothers me, it's the highway after all).
Once you get past the castle, you cannot park on the roads/side streets.
We had to park on the street a couple of weeks back when the car park was full as they do not open the field parking till later in the season. We parked in the road next to the pub on the left, just before you get to the castle.I want to be credit card and loan free by Christmas 20100 -
I went last year and found it very expensive and very busy as well. I suppose they have to keep themselves open someway! The cafe was pricey but does do a good hot chocolate0

Hi everyone,
Thanks for all your hints and tips. We went yesterday and parked at a car park behind Warwick Racecourse (the first 2 hours were free, then after that it was £3 for 4 hours) so we paid for 4 hours.
We then had a nice little stroll up the hill through the town, which was totally deserted - Warwick was so beautiful but there was nothing open apart from a couple of pubs and an ASK (should have printed off an ASK voucher 2for1 off here and had a pizza!!!!:D) I thought Warwick were really missing out on all the tourists etc as we would have stopped up for a coffee and had a look around the shops.
We went into the castle and I am SO grateful for the 2for1 link that susancs posted here at £17.95 per person I would have felt that £36.00 for both of us for the visit was just too steep.
In all honesty, I wasn't that impressed. Yes the castle is big and certainly historically grand but after you've climbed up the steps and had a look at the banqueting room and the mock up bedrooms there is nothing else really. I think it is without a doubt a family day out and you really need the weather to be warm so you can have your pinic outside on the grass verges near the river and stay there for the whole day to get your money's worth. It took us only a couple of hours to walk round - we did to be fair get some nice pics from the top with surrounding views.
I was so glad that we were organised and took our own food. To give you an idea of just how expensive it is - there was the option to buy and refill a beaker of fizzy drink - the cost - a whopping £4.95!!!!!!!!! If you wanted to buy sweets - milky buttons cost £2.20 in the shop. Daylight robbery.
Anyway, I wanted to go and I am pleased to say I have been - for those who are deciding to go = I would say take your own grub and drinks and print off that 2for1voucher!!!!0
