how does everyone rate Npower as met them in the shops and they said they could offer better deals than online. Anyone any experience of this? thanks in advance.

The salesman would tell you the moon is made of cheese if it secured a sale.
If you are thinking of switching supplier, use a couple of the comparison sites listed in the resource bar above and search the entire market, not just the tariffs available from the supplier the salesman earns commission from pushing."Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -
Also, make sure you get your kWh usage from your last year's gas and electricity bills, don't just put in what you pay, as it isn't as accurate. It's much better to make sure you're getting an accurate idea of your saving
If you don't know these figures/can't find your bills, ask your supplier or register at your suppliers web site and you should be able to see your last few years' bills

NPower's customer service is pretty poor. At least it was for me in my short period as one of their customers when I moved into my new flat at the beginning of this year. In addition, they charge different rates of units at their more expensive price depending upon what time of year it is. They charge more at the higher price in the winter than they do in the summer (considerably more). This is extremely unfair, no other company (to my knowledge) does this and I bet they haven't mentioned this to you when tying to get you to switch to them!...0
