IB transfer to ESA

I just wondered if this is still due to start in October with my age group (under 25)?
I saw a claimant here who has already been assessed for ESA: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=2320195
And I was informed this morning I have passed the PCA without a medical which has never happened before. It may be because i'm undergoing tests to diagnose another problem, but the review date has been set for Aug 2011, too long surely for it to be that!
Honestly I am sure also that I am considered a borderline case, in fact the last EMP said i would be better within a year, usual ME disbelief!
Thought perhaps it was more likely to be due to ESA?

From October 2010, beginning a reassessment of all customers receiving Incapacity Benefit or Income Support on the grounds of disability for ESA.”
So, it will not now be until almost the end of 2010 that the first incapacity benefit claimants will be assessed using the much harsher work capability assessment rather than the personal capability assessment.
No indication was given in the report of how long it will take to assess all incapacity benefit claimants using the new test. The original timetable ran from 2009 to 2013, suggesting that the DWP expected the process to take four years. However, ESA is clearly proving much more time consuming to administer than was originally anticipated. Without investing in more medical staff, it is hard to see how a four year timetable can now be considered realistic.
It may well be that some incapacity benefit claimants will still be with us until well after 2015.

I was under the impression that the transition had not yet started, but as noted above a long term IB claimant has been called for an ESA medical. Perhaps a limited group are being used as a pilot, or a mistake has been made by ATOS/ DWP?Gone ... or have I?0

They are not starting the pilots until October. Then it is likely to go nationwide in February.0 -

They are now saying that they plan to complete the process by the end of March 2014.0 -
I understood that the pilots are already taking place?i may be wrong but had read that on a number of forums. As for moving people over from I/B it should be done as and when I/B is due for review, and its expected to take around 3 years, although i suspect the number of appeals and the expected number of genuine complaints will slow this down0

I can't help but wonder if, in a few months time, there will be a new transition ... from ESA to IB! Uncertain times?

hi,i was wondering if someone can help me please, ive just been relesed from prison after serving a 12 months prison sentence(for criminal damage) and prior to be imprisoned i was on incapacity benefit and dla and had been for 6 yrs but now ive been told i have to claim ESA instead of incapacity benefit and that chances are ill require a medical to qualify for ESA with support group eligibility ? (whatever that is),my dla is active already and is not being queried so i was wondering if someone can tell me if this is right or should i be eligible to go back onto incapacity as before,ps ive been out only a couple of weeks and as i say my dla has been reactivated,0

Because you were in prison for more than 8 weeks for a criminal offence, your IB claim has correctly ended. You will now have to claim ESA, and the medical called WCA will be applied to you soon.0
