they dont.
i know at least a dozen people who WORK for them.
they dont like giving people service on a key metre, then immediately let them shift to a credit meter, they make you use the key for a couple of months.
i was BANKRUPT when i switched to them, and they DID NOT credit check me when i asked for a credit meter.

At least if she has a normal quarterly meter, she can have some control over the situation. She can read meter regularly and either pay for what she has used or keep money aside. If a prepayment meter is fitted, control is lost. Customers are reliant upon what the supplier does (ie: what prices are set on the meter, if meter breaks are relaint on supplier coming out in good time to repair or replace it - or else without power).
I agree, but many people don't bother to do that (take regular readings, pay regularly or keep money aside). It is very easy to use more than one can afford on a credit meter.0
