As you can see from the time of tjis post, I`m losing sleep over it!
Any idea what I should expect?
I am a nearly 40 mum of 2 who has worked all her life in an office, but I need something more flexable.
Its for a recently openned small out of town store.
Going to put my cards on the table at interview re childcare issues, do they do term time? or happy to work evenings/weekends then to make up hours.
Thanks

Anyone?
Getting worried now0 -
Well I have a friend who works at Mcdonalds, and from what i've got from him the hours you do will at fixed time, but will be very random shifts (say you'll do three breakfasts shifts one week, the next week you will end up doing five).0
-
hi all you do is put in your availability when you apply then they work round that if you want to change shifts you just tell them at least i week in advance good luck0
-
when i worked at mcdonalds many years ago when i was at uni i told them what hours i could do and they were very flexible with me0

In my maccies, there is a single mum who only works monday to friday around times suitable for nursery and doesn't work christmas etc. You will have filled out your availability at the application process and then if you get through the interview you will be asked for them again at the orientation meeting.0

The turnover of staff at McDonalds and the like is usually quite high - lots of students help this.
I'd have thought that a manager worth his salt would jump at the chance of employing you - a little flexibility in shifts would be repaid to him many times over because you have a job that suits you and he'll have an employee that will know how it all works and would be able to guide the newbies after you've been there a few months.
Good luck and remember you'll be a great employee if he gives you a chance! :beer:Whether you think you can or you can’t, you’re probably right ~ Henry Ford0 -
Have you had the interview? How did it go?0
-
have you had the interview yet as someone else stated mcdonalds would like your life experiences and can help others when they are new at the job good luck0

I had the interview, which was more of a chat, no OJE.
Thought it went well was very open and straight about what i could/wanted to work, asked about differant hours/times in term time and school hols.
Got an email yesterday to say i have got it!
Have my induction of Sunday.
Think i have to give 5 weeks notice where i am at the moment, so will be a while before I start!
Anyone done the induction?
Thanks again0 -
Congratulations on getting the job!
My boyfriend used to work at McDonalds, he was 27 and older than the managers and thought he would hate it but he loved it there!
Apparently the induction is watching a video, doesnt last very long not alot to it! Good luck x0
