JSA and 8 hours work

Hi, hope someone can help

So, after months of trying finally got an interview that I am very confident about, but its only 8 hours!

I know I can claim JSA to top it up, but was wondering if the fact that I get child benefit pay my NI stamp?

This would negate the need to go to the job centre to sign on and would just lose a few pounds per week?

Hope someone can help me...I get cont based Jsa, my husband works so we get WTC already.

If you want to get the additional few quid you will need to continue to sign on unfortunately as you will still need to actively seek work for the remainder of up to 16+plus hours to be considered a jobseeker and eligible for the remainder of your JSA.

You dont have to go to the JC if you just want the NI stamp if you claim child benefit you will just need to complete the form on the link.

    Good luck :)

thanks! I have the interview tommorrow, so fingers crossed! Would rather lose the few pounds per week, I really don't like going to the job centre! Hopefully tommorrow I will get the job and this whole nightmare can be over!

I would do the same, going to the JC is not a pleasant experience. Good luck !
