attitudes of some mse'ers

i have been reading some threads on here lately where mse'ers have been slating each other?!? why is everyone being so rude to each other.......... i really dont understand why you have to get so worked up, you insult someone you dont know.

its really offputting reading it and i know there will be people that say 'dont then' but i am interested in the intelligence in some of the posts, the bargains, the things you guys can find out lol.........but im always really disappointed when i read an uncalled for personal comment.

i've seen it happen on a website like this that the forums were closed down because half of the members pi$@ed each other off by off the cuff remarks that they couldnt take back......i would hate to see the same happen to this valuable site. i dont wanna preach but cant people try re-reading their posts before they submit them and see how they may read to avoid confrontation?

we all come on here to chat, get tips and advice from people, if i disagreed with someone i'd either ignore it, or i'd like to think that im mature enough to put my arguement across without the need for personal insults

its letting everyone down......... if you dont agree with me im sure you'll tell me but please try and see it from other peoples perspectives aswell, its so unnecessary

i generally like to read all the posts, but for the odd one or two i don't, i use a firefox extension called FfvB vBulletin Management.

it lets you ignore users, and then you don't see their posts, even if you're not logged in to mse. i find that really annoys any trolls!

it also lets me "ignore" threads, so i don't have to see threads i'm not interested in (or stickies! ;)) again, even when i'm not logged in.

it also lets me ignore specific avatars if i don't want to see them, rather than just turning them all off - however, once i've done that, i can't seem to get it to un-ignore them!

thanks to savemoney who i saw post this extension. it's great. :D

Yes ffvb is great plugin glad you like it Jack. I got about quite a few users on ignore :) It saves aggravation and annoys hell out of trolls

I even block some threads too so I dont go back due to past replies, anything for a easy life at times

Having said that some people are nasty, some posts may come across a little harsh. Also we do get new users who are past trolls that got banned that sign up and tell porky pies sometimes its easy to spot them others its not.
  • haha yes I had a problem earlier today, I posted on CSA forum, "why are CSA on strike?" I got slated for scaremongering!!! and was asked why i only gave half the info,??? because i didnt know they were on strike and what for!! thats why I asked! I had not seen the news and dont watch it anyway.. made me feel like I sould not of bothered!!

Why on earth would trolls get annoyed?

    A) they don't know you are blocking them
    B) surely trolls do the annoying!

Some trolls like attention, you ignore them they dont like it. You block there posts and you dont give them fuel to keep on going they move on

Everyone being so rude to one another? where?...is way wrong statement, few are rude to people on here regularly and they are usually PPR'd very quickly!

Really? There are a number of people on the Disability and Dosh board which post nothing but awful comments, and nothing ever seems to get done about them. Occationally their posts will vanish - but are they actually being warned? I never see it.
