Are you looking at this one? http://www.rightmove.co.uk/viewdetails-12038852.rsp?pa_n=5&tr_t=buy
The Courtyard at market buildings is nice. Not sure how high up it is tho, for noise issues from bleu etc.I love this site :beer:0 -
Out of all the flats I saw, this one was the best. The living areas were spacious and no work needed doing: http://www.rightmove.co.uk/viewdetails-7903969.rsp?pa_n=1&tr_t=buy
However, after realsing that all the properties were ex buy to let and after getting a greater awareness of the amount of flats that are for sale and the amount of flats that are available to rent, we've decided that buying a city centre place probably isn't the best idea! Therefore, we have decided that we will sell our place and rent a city centre flat for a year or so to save up to buy a house in Didsbury/Withington/Fallowfield.

Out of interest, as I am looking at places to rent (not but as I want to try city living before I take that kind of plunge) in Manchester, does anyone know of any forums or sites with any kind of discussion of different areas, buildings etc.
Myself and my other half currently are focussing on Castlefield, walking distance from town but not right in it.
All help much appreciated :beer:0 -

You'll probably be paying less in rent than the landlord is in mortgage repayments!
Your idea sounds like the best one. Take advantage if you canEverything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

You could try Manchester City Centre Residents Forum (MCCRF) its on yahoo groups.
Rents in manchester are still quite high tho, so your rent would prob be the same as your mortgage.......Opal Estates have nice reasonably priced rentals flats in Manchester (The Warehouse on Fairfield Street and some others). Sorry if that too townie for you, cant think of any others.I love this site :beer:0 -

I'll have a look at both thanks very much. I was born and raised in Droylsden (myself and my g/f live there but work in Manchester we'd save £100PCM in travel which is why we can stretch to city centre rents) so there's nowt too towny for me0
