I want to order some cds from a Slovenian company but they want to paid by Bank Transfer. Banks seem to charge a staggering £20 but I see that tranzfer.com only charge £7. I am not sure whether I should trust or not.
Thanks

Its the payment by bank transfer that worries me rather than paying by card.
I have never heard of the company and for that reason would not use them myself.0 -
Seems to be Australian: http://www.tranzfers.com/
Was just looking around for something and came across MoneyGram. Never used it myself, but apparently it can be arranged through Post Offices or some travel agents:
https://www.moneygram.com/MGI/EN/GB/Market/Market.htm?CC=GB&LC=EN
(click the link towards the bottom for 'Sending Money?' to see what's involved).
You didn't give the amount, but entered a random figure of £50 from UK > Slovenia, and it came up with a charge of £9. Money goes to an agent in the destination country, and is said to be ready to collect in as little as 10 mins (subject to one or two conditions which you can read for yourself). As it can be done from a PO there wouldn't seem much problem sending from this end, but whether it's acceptable to the company you're buying from may depend on the availability/accessibility of agents where they are.
I haven't had to TF money abroad for a number of years, so out of touch, but it certainly always was a problem sending small amounts abroad till PayPal came in. I know someone who uses Moneybookers now and again, but don't know what they charge.
If you go through one of the banks they'd use IBAN/SWIFT to the EU. The Natwest site's quoting £10 to any EU country (any fees due to the destination bank to be paid by the recipient), but for this it would have to go in Euros. Non-Euro and you're right, it's £20.
Other methods are mentioned.

I was only using them as an example of what perhaps a typical large bank would offer and charge -- your own bank a/c is probably elsewhere and may charge slightly differently~cottager0 -

Tranzfers are an Aussie based company focused on small international money transfers. They're part of Ozforex who are in turn owned by the large Australian retail and investment bank Maquarie so a reputable company.
Hope this helps.

I sent them money for a transfer in the end of June and it still has not been transferred over 4 months later. I would avoid using Tranzfers.com
I just hope I get my money back somehow as I cannot afford to lose £1000."The happiest of people don't necessarily have the
