Daughters bank account, ex is signee on it...

When a member of my family died they left money to my daughter and my ex and I opened an account for her. They required one signature for the account so my ex signed it. I recently phoned the bank to ask about moving it but as my ex is down as the signee on the account they wouldn't do anything for me. I've still got the book for it and get sent the statements but my fear is that my ex takes the money and spends it on herself. Is there anything at all I can do to get around this?
Thanks in advance.

How old is your daughter?
If she is too young to sign by herself then you might have reason to worry about your ex signing and withdrawing the money.0 -
Thanks for the reply, my daughter is away to be 6. I'm going to go in the bank today and see what they say but not holding my breath as I've phoned before with no joy.0

can you not get your ex to agree to sign account over to you ?
if not
you could try asking the court for a preventitive steps order section 8 CA.2006
to prevent them from touching the money unless it is to buy things for your daughter but you should seek legal advice for this
basically it would prevent them taking anymoney out without the consent of the court

My ex is driven by money so I can't see her going for that. Thanks though, I'll consult my solicitor on the matter. Had to take the ex to court to get access to my girl so solicitor's are nothing new to me.0
