Hi I was just wondering if anyone knew the answer to this (probably an easy one
)
I am getting my son a new possport and it says at the bottom of the parents details that if parents were born after 1982 then they need the full name, town, country, date of birth and date of marriage of your grandparents (or details of parents claim to nationality)
Now whos grandparents is it? Mine or my sons? Plus what if you dont know all this info what are you supposed to do?
Any ideas would be great as I dont fancy phoning the 0870 number.
Thank you

If they are asking the child if their parents are born after 1982. I would assume they are asking for the childs grandparents details.£2 Coins Savings Club 2012 is £4

Is it a renewal? If so you don't have to fill in all that.
You could give the passport office a quick ring.2008 Comping ChallengeWon so far - £3010 Needed - £230Debt free since Oct 20040 -

Thanks, yes one is a renewal but the other is a first time passport. Think I will just give them a ring, saves them sending it back to me :rolleyes:Work like you don't need money,Love like you've never been hurt,And dance like no one's watchingSave the cheerleader, save the world!0 -

hope im not too late to help with this. the first time applicant requires a full BC showing parents details, now the mother is the key point here as status automatically goes through mum, if she was born after 1982 and doesnt hold a passport then we need her full BC and HER parents details. if she holds a passport which was issued before the child was born then grandparents details arent required as her status is shown on her passport. if you want a full explanation on this please feel free to pm me..0
