Got a call just now
Phone said "out of area" guy spoke with asian accent
First he said can I speak to Mr Anderson
That isnt my name, then I said this isnt me, he then said can I speak to xxxxxxxx and said my full name
I had a feeling it was from Primus as I am changing phone provider
He then said I represent a debt management company
I then said I dont have any debts accept a mortgage he then hung up
Now I am wondering whether to check for credit reference etc as we had some fraud last month on my daughters cash card via cloneing n cash machine in bank we use

Don't know if it's a scam, but.......
whenever I answer the phone and someone asks for xxxxxxxxxxx, ( or for that matter anyone), I always ask who is speaking and where are they from.
If they won't give me a name and company, I won't speak to them.
P.S. Always make the caller speak slowly and clearly, If they are genuine they don't mind.0 -
I have had a few calls (asian accent) offering to help me reclaim bank charges etc....
they seem somewhat disbeliving when I tell them I've none to reclaim BUT even if I had I certainly wouldn't be discussing them with a cold caller - probably just touting for business...Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Thanks for the replies. Wish I let them do the spiel now and not confirm who I was. As I said had my guard down as I was expecting a call from Primus about my telephone service, dont normally pick up the phone for out of area calls0

I got this and also got text messages. I got one phonecall and had around 4 text messages stating my full name telling me they could help me clear debts. It was a vodaphone mobile number so I called Vodaphone and got a barr put on them. No calls or texts since (thankfully.):smileyhea0

I got one asking for Mr Anderson too. I said 'sorry, you must have the wrong number." and just as I was hanging up I could hear him saying: "well perhaps we can help you then..."[strike]-£20,000[/strike] 0!0

We had one last week, calling for the past 2 year for a previous tenant, having gotten fed up constantly saying they no longer live here, as baby was crying, I decided to say "hang on" and gave baby the phone til he calmed down - only then did I hang up.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A
