Bathroom: NOT tiling around toilet area

Would it look weird not to tile around the toilet area or just plain wrong!
I know it's difficult to picture but basically the tiling area would stop shortly after the basin to the left of the WC which is in the corner of the room so against another wall. Hmm...I'll try and post a pic.
PS. This is because I made the mistake of paying day rate to the bathroom fitter and now not sure if will cost too much to get all tiling done
Don't be a fool like me!

I prefer to only have the shower cubicle, area above the two sides of the bath, & a small splashback around the basin tiled. I can't stand manky grout, & would much rather paint behind a loo than have to regrout or clean grout behind it!0

I run a Maintenance Company and do a lot of bathroom installs. There are no hard and fast rules. Some people have the whole thing tiled as it is easy to clean and low maintenance. Some like Sooz above just have the essentials tiled. Some even have a feature wall. I think what you are describing will be fine.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0

I have bath wall and a strip above basin and that it!
Nothing weird or wrong about not having the wall behind the loo tiled!
Our loo is next to the basin and it looks fine.DebtFree FEB 2010!Slight blip in 2013 - Debtfree Aug 2014 :j

What happens when a fella hits the rim and splatters all over the wall!

It's a lot easier to wipe down with tiles:rotfl:

Yikes  thanks for your replies, I'm still unsure but veering towards no tiles around toilet, I mean, I just can't see me regretting it that much!0 -
Our old bathroom had just one row of tiles around the sink and around the bath and the rest was wallpapered and it looked fine.
I'm busy redoing it all with tiles, as my boys are at the age when they prefer showers, and I wanted tiles round the toilet as their aim isn't very good - ewww! Here I go again on my own....0 -

The offending fella should be trained not to do so. If necessary, wipe his nose in it until he learns (or is that dogs?)
I use a washable bathroom paint on the walls. When I mop the floor, I mop the wall around the loo too. I find it much easier to attack it at a distance with a mop, than to have my head behind the loo with a toothbrush (probably his
) scrubbing the grout. 0
