I have thick coarse hair too, but i want to have it done so much, i am fed up of shaving every other day.
I am trying to think of something i can take with me to squeeze, frantically trying to find a stress ball or something.

You don't need anything like that! Take some painkillers about an hour before ( or just get drunk ha ha!). Make sure it's not just before your period and just grin and bare it!
Let us know how you get on :)

I have wanted to try waxing for a long time too. You have made me look in to where is the best place near me. Hope it goes well!

It does hurt, but only for a few seconds. (It helps to know that the pain won't last!) Your first time is the most painful, so even if it hurts quite a lot this time, it won't be quite as bad next time, especially if you go again before the hair is too long and thick. Eventually it becomes just a sharp sting and it is done, so persevere! Pop back afterwards and let us know how it went.

I don't want to dash your hopes or anything but a quick word of warning... waxing can last UP TO 4 weeks. It just depends on the individual really and how fast their hair grows... for me, it lasts less than ONE week. Not good and SO not worth the pain!

To be fair to OP a week is pretty extreme, majority last 3/4 weeks!

Well i tried to wax my legs around christmas time - only managed the front of my right leg before giving up and the hairs on there didn't grow back for ages, over a month, even now there is still bald patches in my legs (very small areas) where the hair hasn't grown back, so i was either doing something seriously wrong or my hair is just weak.

The heat of wax was worse for me than the waxing itself! I can't stand it hot, even when she reduced the temp to minimum she could (according to her), it was still feeling too hot!

I've never been brave enough to try waxing (and epilation put me off for 10+ years :rotfl:)

How do you know whether the hairs on your legs will be long enough - or too long in time for your appointment?

Can anyone explain the 'styles' of bikini waxing pls :o
