OMG!!! I have just booked my first wax - reassurance pls?

Just got of the phone to the local beauty salon about having a full leg wax and bikini (Hollywood):eek:

Please please tell me it is not as bad as everyone makes out?

I am imagining dying of sheer embarrasment and then of pain:o

Is it worth it?

It's fine, especially if done professionally as they know how to minimise any discomfort. I have heard that it's worse at the TOTM. If you do find it unbearable you just ask them to stop and you can shave the rest as worse case scenario!
At first it can be a little painful but after a few goes you kind of get a bit numb to it.

I certainly will, it's on Wednesday, and the salon is very professional, they are trainers as well.
Sorry to sound thick but what is TOTM?

oh durr!! lol, yeah i have heard that as well and also to take a couple of Ibuprofen beforehand as well.

I'm so nervous and excited, no shaving for for 4 weeks!!!:D

I would be nervous as well if someone was going to pour wax on my privates and pull all the hair off.

Not sure about excitement though!

Legs will be fine - don't be surprised if the bikini draws blood though (sorry don't mean to scare you but I wish someone had warned me!)

It's worth the pain! Really, it's not that bad Never had blood drawn though!

Hollywood = no dignity though! I would've built up to that personally but go for it! Other 'styles' you keep your underwear on but just maneuver it whereas hollywood it's removed.

I regularly have my legs/bikini line waxed. I have thick coarse hair, and for me there is pain, but it's only for a second or two after the strip is pulled off.
I had been having my legs waxed for 3 or 4 yrs before I took the plunge and went for a Hollywood. It WAS painful, but she worked her way inwards from both sides, so if I'd had enough at least I wasn't lopsided .
The result was fabulous (shaving & Veet creams don't really have any lasting effects I'm afraid), but I still laugh at myself crawling back up the bed when I know she's about to pull some wax from my bits :rotfl:
