I have an overdraft with Barclays for £350 and a £500 reserve. The bank told me that I cannot go over £500 overdrawn and yet with bank charges they have put me £945 overdrawn!!!
They eventually contacted me and asked me to pay it off, (get real). I told them I was currently following a debt management plan with CCCS to which they kept asking for my CCCS reference number but CCCS has told me not to give this out.
Why did the bank put me soooo overdrawn when they told me that I couldn't go over my reserve????
I have recently opened a new account from the advice of CCCS so they can't take all my money but I am really annoyed they have put me so much in debt.

If you have a £350 overdraft and a £500 reserve you can go £850 overdrawn before payments start being rejected (thus incurring the £8 bounced item fees) At £22 a week its an expensive way of borrowing the extra £500.
Have you managed to cancel the reserve (ie stopped the £22 a week charge?)
Double check with CCCS about not giving your reference number to the bank. Its a way for the bank to confirm you are in a DMP with CCCS. Are barclays included on the DMP to repay the overdraft ?LegalBeagles0 -
You could not make it further overdrawn (cash machine would say no, card rejected, DD's bounce etc). This doesn't stop the bank adding charges though.Starting Debt: ~£20,000 01/01/2009. DFD: 20/11/2009 :j
