I have to remove a chimney pot from the concrete crown on my chimney. How do I do such a thing? or do i just remove the crown with the pot?

if it's a standard brick chimney the pots are bedded on mortar and then flaunched (sp?) with more to make the rain run off. To get the pots of just chisel the mortar away.
Take care, the pots are heavier than they look and can get unstable when you are chiselling. If you don’t want the pots it’s best to slowly smash them up in situ0 -
if youre careful you can chisel it off and then replace it with a vent cap, or cement the whole top over.Get some gorm.0

The crown is a concrete slab sitting on top of the brick chimney. The Pot sits inside this concrete slab. I need to get the pot out to make way for a liner and new pot. Do I need to remove whole concrete crown or can I chip out the old pot from the crown?0

if the new pot/liner is the same size as the old one then just chip it off.
if the new one is bigger then remove the whole crown.Get some gorm.0
