GEM Breakdown Cover

Just wondering if anyone has any experience of GEM Breakdown cover. My AA renewal has come in at £159 and other quotes are around £120 but I can get cover from GEM for £69 which seems really low. Are they low because their service is poor or is this a great deal? Would be great to know if anyone has had a breakdown what their service was like?

Thanks in advance

Is it their 'reclaim' service? If so this is where you pay the attending garage and then (try to) make a claim to reimburse you.

I think they now offer a traditional product but I am not sure how this stacks up against the major players I'm afraid.

If you are willing to go for a "pay and claim" service then AutoAid can't be beaten at £32.
They have had a lot of good feeback on this site.

I haven't seen anything bad about GEM service but haven't needed to use them myself.

I was a very happy GEM customer last year. Their service was excellent, quick callout and my claim was paid out within 5 days (they even sent me out a spare claim form for a future breakdown). In the true spirit of moneysaving, I too have moved to Autoaid, as GEM's prices have almost doubled since I took out my policy.

I have heard that GEM prices increase quite a lot on renewal.
