Hi
I wrote to HHFC on 26/02/10 and contacted them today who state they have received my letter and given me a claims number. Does the 8 weeks time limit start from 26/02/10 when I sent the letter or when they write to me to confirm they have received the letter.
Plus does anybody know what HFC are like at repaying ppi. Im claiming cos I felt pressurised into taking it (spent 2 hours in their office), covered at work (work for NHS) for redundancy/death in service/12 month sick pay so shouldnt have been sold it but salesman said it would be best to take it. Finally, I was having outpatient appointments for gall baldder problems and have a history of stress/depression (been hospitalised for it) so the cover wouldnt take into account those illnesses. Plus never got told that it oculd be cancelled within I think 30 days.
Actually, it was pretty uselsess thinking about it but at the time you are stressed out by financial worries and the thought that somebody will lend you the money you need you sign anything and dont even think about it.

Hi Michelle
Some go by the date they receive your letter, or by the date, they vary.
With your reasons - you should be okay here.
And of course HFC were fined for mis selling the PPI in 2005 as well.
But despite that hopefully it should all go straight forward for you, fingers crossed.;)
