Damaged Watch, Advice needed?

Hi i recently handed in my watch, to have the catch replaced at a repair centre. This cost me £25 to do. The watch was functioning fine, just that the catch was damaged. it took two weeks for it to go to the workshop and to be returned to me. when i got it back , the catch was repaired, however the watch had stopped working. i tried resetting the time, but the hands would not move. i took the watch back, and was told, that the actual movement of the watch was not touched, just the catch repaired, so they would not take responability. I was told it would cost me a further £65 to have the watch repaired.

Do I have any rights to have my money returned or my watch repaired, or is there nothing i can do?. I am very disappointed that I handed in a fully working watch, only for it to be returned broken.

Thanks

Any help much appreciated.

  • No the watch ticks fine, you just can't reset the time. Moving the dial thing, the hands do not move. The battery is fine, dont think they would quote me £65 if it was just a flat battery :-)
