Bought a new game from game.co.uk but it was clearly second hand!

I'm a little nirked about this!

Bought a game from game.co.uk for just shy of a tenner and it was the 'NEW' tab not the preowned which I avoid like plague, from game at least! However when it turned up it had sticker marks all over the case and a smudged disc with finger prints and crucially lacking the microsoft seal which comes with all new 360 games! So what a to do? Complained to game on-line, just curious where I stand with this?

The game is not as described. Of course complain and demand a full refund as you'd be entitled to, however if they dispute it, it'll be your word against theirs as to whether the game was actually new or you simply opened it yourself. What game was it and is it still being advertised?

BTW there really isn't anything wrong with preowned games, its a great way to save a few pence.

Couldn't agree more but when the game is gonna be given as a present, well it seems a bit cheap! :rotfl:

The point is that this has been falsely advertised and not sold as described, i.e. not new

but surely you must of checked the seal when the staff put the game into the bag in the shop ? if you didnt i think you have no chance of a refund maybe if your lucky a exchange.

  • I bought a DS game from there the other day for £10, in the shop though, not online. The girl offered me a pre-owned copy for £8, which I did not want.

She then went away and put the game in the box and added a 'game' seal to it.

This did get me thinking that she could have easily put the second hand game in the box, as all the games come out of a drawer. The game works fine, however I'm not sure I would buy games from there again as I like my boxes sealed, and brand new.

However getting back to the OP, Game.co.uk states that they operate a 28 day return policy if the seal is intact. I would contact them and explain that there was no seal in the first place, and see what they say.
