i have aol bb and want go wireless.
they have recomended routers to buy but i can get for cheaper elsewhere.
is it worth getting a recomneded router or will i be ok getting something else?

Any ADSL router should work (not cable/dsl), which model do you have in mind? All Netgears work with AOL, but you may need to adjust the MTU of whatever you get.
