Garage with Loft from scratch

Hi everyone,

I have a house with a large garden and no garage and the perfect space for one. I especially want a room on the top of it as I need the extra space, even though I will have to apply for planning permission.

I have designed and measured the exact garage I want (see picture img20.imageshack.us/img20/4943/screenshot20100307at225.png), that fits neatly into the space, and now have the plans for it.

I am about to start getting building firms round to inspect the area and give me a quote, but so I don't look like an idiot, does anyone have an idea of what this might cost or has anyone done it themselves?

Please note:

The ground is currently grass
I do not mind rendering or plain bricks, whatever is cheaper
Ridge Height 5.9m
7.6m x 8.6m Externally
56m² Ground Floor Area
14' x 7' Up and Over Garage Door

Thanks
