My pad today is £1 to Barclaycard. Dull and grey here. :(
Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Car loan 1 £11,174, Car loan 2 £5,532, CC 0% BT £780. Debt Free Diary to try & keep spending in check.

Hi all, the total for 17th April was £41.66. :p

Looks like a few of us are pretty skint around here of late :) .
I've got my half yearly service charges to pay on my flat as soon as the next batch of cheques clear. Also, I am making preparations to ramp up my business another notch. Unfortunately the extra outlay always precedes the extra income so I'm being minimalist on my PADs at the moment. Indeed I will probably need to use the credit cards for a short while to lay out for the equipment. I've located a small unit for my business. Most units are out of reach costwise unless you employ a few people but I've found a situation that is workable for me. It will increase my running costs by about £2k a year but will (eventually) enable me to increase my income by rather more than that. So the next few months will be a bigger squeeze than anticipated but I have more room to squeeze my personal spending down even further. I'm currently reviewing whether my mortgage PPI is worth the paper it's written on. Cancelling that would save about £270 a year.

  • £3.00 to the barclaycard and 1.10 in the pot today please sashy... total of £4.10

Currently trying to plan a way back from venice for my housemate and the others she is stuck with!! Their employer has said if it's not back to normal tomorrow they have to sort themselves out!! I've suggested they hire a car (£500) and drive to calais (12hours) and get someone to pick them up from Dover when they manage to get on a ferry!! I can't believe how the airlines are treating their staff, let alone passengers!:eek:

Sounds like a good plan to me!
My DS is in a similar situation but has understanding employers - stuck in Malta - on expenses - in a £150 per day hotel - oh what a shame! :rotfl:
It does mean DDIL is stuck with 2 littlies alone and needs to make other arrangements to get to work herself next week.
His plan is flight to Barcelona on Tuesday - then drive to Le Havre for ferry .. if there are any hire cars available!

Well this decluttering lark really does pay off!!
I have 'found' £20 in with my petrol receipts (note to self - do mileage claim!!).
Thought I was better organised than that now, but I guess it was from a couple of months ago when my head was elsewhwere due to the threat of redundancy!
Also found over 50 stamps (??) but strangely enough needed to buy 4 tomorrow!
Have also located my good pen :j
zillions of sh!te pens! 5 nailfiles (was looking for one yesterday), car phone charger and bits that go with old phones and loads of extra [STRIKE]carp[/STRIKE] treasures to sell!!
Anyway - the result of this is
£20.18 to the evil one and this is the day before payday:j.
New job tomorrow! but now at least my pencil case is sorted :rotfl:

Paul good luck with the business move .. guess you must speculate to accumulate or as they say at work... invest to save!
I would give that PPI some thought too.

There seemed to be availability with europcar today so you could always book one to pay on collection, that way there should be one there for him when he arrives!

Sorry Sashy, just rounded down one of my various 'pots' so another £4.17 to the cc.
