Arghhhhhhhhhh! OH's stupid work! They still haven't sorted his contract. I thought the last day of his current one was 31st March but it's actually the 14th/15th April (not sure which).

Anyway, having just discussed this with the OH, and getting quite upset at the thought of having to up and leave in less than a month's time, he went back to his HR team and let rip a bit.

I'm not sure if that would usually be a good idea, but they've now promised the revised contract will be with him for signing on Tuesday (I won't hold my breath!). Verbal indications are that he will receive the things he asked for. One of which is commuter travel reimbursement, which, as it turns out they should've been paying him for the last two years so he's *potentially* in for a rather nice lump sum which will pay for our holiday. :)

We'll wait and see what Tuesday brings.

EDIT: Just to be clear. I love my friends and family soooo much and miss them dearly, but I am also very, very happy here. I love my job and the people I work with and they are very supportive of my wish to study. I also love the country and the culture. I may want to go back to the UK one day, but right now, I'm just not ready to leave.

  • Euro - I only have saturday and sunday off too!! so you aren't the only one working.:(:)

I understand how you feel about working in a different country. Thats one of the things I want to do most, experience life in another culture while living there instead of holidaying. I do want the old farmhouse in the deep english countryside when I'm old and have lots of grandchildren... but I also want to experience as much as possible before then!:o

    Afternoon everyone,

I'm off work for 4 days now, and i have to say i am bored already!! Really need to find something to fill my time - the sensible solution would be to do some extra money making for the house moving fund.

Anyway PAD for me today is £5.00 to the moving house fund please.

  • I've got some commercial window cleaning jobs to do this weekend (half a days work in total) but it's hissing down out there.
Think I'll be a wimp, recharge batteries with some duvet diving, and get my flat cleaner and tidier.
Looks like weather will improve over Sunday/Monday so can do the other work then :D
