Payment rejected by credit card

HI

I have been using my credit card a fair bit last 2 months due to home move this month. I max it and then repay within 7/10 days as my limit on the card is not a lot.

Today when I used my debit card to pay off the credit card on the credit card website it rejected the payment, message suggesting I do not use that debit card again as no authorisation will be given. Concerned I rang the debit card company who said they have not suspended my debit account and can infact see the attempted payment and they had actually authorised. So then rang the credit card compnay who refused to discuss with me today and told me to get in touch tomo!!!

Why would they reject payment? I then used another account and that payment was taken ok.

Anyone suggest reasons why?

Maybe your CC will only allow you to make so many payments via a debit card per statement period?

    Really?

Does that happen, or is that even possible?

Rubbish for me when they will not raise the limit, out of all my CC that is my lowest limit as well but the one i want to use for points system.

Suppose I could transfer money from one account into the other account that they do allow payment from, but just seems a little long winded, and for them not to discuss it today really annoys me!!

Find out if they accept faster payments and pay it via internet banking in the future.

Are you using the numbers on the card and entering them in to the CC's website or are you in your Debit cards internet banking doing a transfer?

As far as I'm aware there is a limit on the first but not the latter with most places.
