Silicone Bakeware - Cleaning?

I have lots of silicone bakeware in different colours and love it.
BUT my loaf tin is pale green and has gone all discoloured off the cake mix.
I've tried a Steradent tablet and Bi-carb, but can't get it clean.
Any suggestions please?

Hi cuddles123:hello:
I have some silicone bakeware, and funnily enough mine is now rather grubby and stained (and it is expensive sillicone). I don't know any magic way of cleaning it, but in my mind I just think it;s the same as most other cooking material - wear and tear shows over time.
Anyone have any suggestions? I couldn't find any threads which offer helpful suggestions either....

Hi zippychick :j
My pink red and blue are fine, it's just the pale green which has gone all brown off the mixture.
I have left bi-carb in it all day and I think it's looking better
I'll let you know.Jack of all trades ... Master of none

Ohhhh sounds promising! I made the mistake of making mars bar cupcakes, and the mars bar pooed everywhere, so mine looks disgusting but is quite clean indeed! Just be careful as I have read the silicone can easily take on the taste of washing materials etc.
Do report back! xA little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men

You should see the state of my metal roasting tins! They look disgusting from all the use they've had :rotfl:I can't honestly say it bothers me. I have some silicone muffin cases that haven't stained yet despite having been used for dark coloured things like chocolate, but they are red so perhaps it's only the lighter colours that stain.
I wonder if a dilute bleach solution would take off the staining (and obviously you'd need to make sure it was really well washed off)?0 -
My stained ones are red too! I dunno, again i would worry about the silicone absorbing the bleach..... This link in particular made me think that, but again that's only one linky.A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men

It's off topic but has anyone found that they make your food taste funny?
I found that when i made lemon meringue pie the pastry tasted plasticky and that's not the only thing.Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession:o

mine are not only stained but have the burn oil type residue on them thats difficult to get rid of.
I rub/scrub with washing up liquid and nylon scourer, and occasionally bung it in the washing machine on hot temp with the teatowels and cleaning cloths, that makes the oily stuff softer but still difficult to remove..
i use mine mainly for yorkshires hence the oil staining..
i'll be watching this thread with interest, and probably not buying any more sillicone! (having said that i have the mini cup cake cases and use them to make small pastryless quiches/tarts and they wash up like new..)
