97 Passat.Passenger airbag turning off

How do you turn off the airbag on the paasenger side,of a 97 Passat TDi,in order to fit a baby seat?

If it's the same as my A4, which i think it is, it's in the glovebox, you need your car key for it.

Just checked,and it doesn't seem to be the case,so does anyone else have any ideas?

Oh, just checked mine and that deff in glovebox, have you tried posted on http://www.honestjohn.co.uk/home/index.htm that may help.
Not sure if all cars had a switch to turn them off, just googed it and some people are saying that in the earlier models it was a option.

I have a 2000 passat and was going to have to pay £150 to get it turned off.
Was cheaper for me to buy a car seat for the rear seats...
