I dare say this has been on here many times. I have not received an item, I paid with a cheque not paypal. Seller not responding to emails phone calls etc. I realise I am not protected, what is the usual route to take in this sort of thing??. They have a 100% feedback, I paid £100 inc postage.
I still have emails requesting a cheque and address and contact tel number(mob)
Any ideas.
Thanks in advance..

I came in to this world with nothing and I've still got most of it left.

Yes, I know. I have cashed a cheque before and weeks after I got a letter from the bank taking the money back from me.
Hopefully someone with more knowledge of this will be along.0 -
I never understand why buyers pay by any other method than paypal which protects them fully especially for large amounts of money
You could request details of the seller from ebay as they might be different. I'd open an ebay dispute though if you haven't though.
Personally I doubt you'll get your money back0 -

With virtually all the main UK banks signed up for the 2-4-6 clearing it is no longer possible to cancel a cheque unless it is within a dya or issue.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I understand but the seller didn't want to pay the high fees and gave me their number etc. I will probably lose out I know so all that can happen is give him a negative. How long until I open a dispute ??I came in to this world with nothing and I've still got most of it left. :rolleyes:0 -

Sellers have to accept paypal no ifs or buts they have no choice. Its a typical scam along with my paypal address doesn't work.
You can open a dispute from 7 days after the auction I would also send him a recorded delivery letter stating that you would like either a refund or the item and give a date otherwise further action will be considered. I would only do this if you really would consider the small claims court as there's nothing worse than empty threats.
Goodluck and I hope something works0 -
I was scammed a while ago, not a ebay sale, l sent a recorded delivery letter stating that if l didn't receive the item or refund of money within 10 days l would make a complaint to the police for fraud/theft as they clearly accepted and banked the payment without sending the goods. I received a cheque a few days later.
The seller needs to be reminded that there has been an increase in cases before the courts of people accepting money and not providing the goods.
Also you have had your fingers burnt, your not alone and its a mistake that you will not repeat.
Best of wishes with it0
