Short break New Orleans in May, from Glasgow

Hi all,

My wife and I have a wedding to go to and not a lot of money to do it with, so I'm trying to get the best deal I can.

We are looking at flying from Glasgow to New Orleans on the 13th of May, returning on the 17th. So far the best I have is £951.40 inc. taxes for us both, but that is flight-only. Really I need hotel and car hire too.

That price is from USairways.com via Kayak.co.uk.

I would like to get flights, hotel an car hire for under 4 figures if possible. Can anyone suggest where to look?

Thanks.

Chandy

We just got back from New Orleans.

You can beat the flight prices if you are prepared to do 2 stops.

Doing a really quick search on travelocity, its coming out at £430 per person for flights.

Even with those prices I cant see you getting under 4 figures including hotel and car hire at all.

Taxes and fees on flights plus the weak pound isnt helping matters at all at the moment.

I did a 9 day break in New Orleans without a car and had no problems getting around, so that might be a way to save a bit.

I had to look it up as it was a while ago but I stayed at the Holiday Inn on Loyola near the Superdome, it was nothing special but definitly value for money and within walking distance of the French Quarter and good transport links (some free).

Yeah those are the 2-stop prices. I'll have a look at travelocity.

Thanks for the tip on the hotel.
