Disabled students allowance and withdrawing

Options
I am seriously considering completing my first year and then taking a year out to sort myself out - not something I want to do; but I have no choice.

I receive disabled students allowance. (DSA) What would happen with this? What happens when I plan to return (if I do) to uni?

I have also just submitted my application for student finance - the non-income bit has been approved. (just need to get my parents to sort out their stuff) Do uni just inform them that I haven't enrolled and that's it? Or do I need to inform SFE myself?

You will have to inform the SLC if you decide not to enrol in your second year. Your university will probably also inform them but you need to as part of your T&Cs.
You get to keep all of your equipment from the DSA but any yearly things such as book allowance, internet contributions, etc... will be stopped.
As for what you'd get if you came back I'm not sure. I got the same terms for my DSA for my first attempt at a degree as for the one I'm currently doing including all equipment but there was 5 years between the two and the LEA and DSA assessment people decided that the equipment I got the first time around were no longer fit for purpose. I wouldn't expect them to give me the equipment again if I took a year out and came back - didn't expect this time and was pleasantly suprised.
