I am asking this question for a friend and i wonder if someone can maybe give an answer please to this difficult position concerning a van which my friend bought with her then partner both of them paying half each.
The log book was in his name and the insured to drive was in her name.
They have since parted and he left with the keys but the van is with my friend.
The tax is due to run out and it will need to be sorn.
He did try to take the van and the police were involved and they said that she cannot sell it and he cannot take it from her .
So what happens next ?she is concerned because it is on her drive and who will be responsible for the fine if not sorn?
The receipt when bought was in both names i believe.

The registered keeper is responsible for the vehicle, so he will be responsible for any fines etc.
