Hi All,
Was wondering how much it would cost (ballpark figure) to knock down a structural wall in a victorian property in surrey?
Also does anyone know of any good builders in the Redhill/Reigate area?
Thanks.

Depends how big the opening you want is, also how much weight will have to be supported above by an rsj. Also whether you want the rsj 'buried' in the ceiling to allow a flat ceiling to run through the new room or whether you mind there being an obvious beam where the wall used to be.
I suspect it will be pricey in Surrey. I would suggest the usual - get reccommendations and get at least 3 quotes. Also make sure that building regs are adhered to or you will have problems when you come to sell.

Don't see how anyone can even ballpark that without knowing the width, in order to estimate the RSJ.No free lunch, and no free laptop

Kitchen wall, with all the units on it?
Supporting just joists or another wall? Can the wall actually be removed?
What about services, access, adjacent rooms, what size beam, how thick is the wall, does it have artex on it, where can the skip go, what about other fire precautions in opening up the room, engineers fees, Party Wall Act fees etc etc?
Basically, you have got no chance of getting a meaningful estimate unless someone comes around and looks at it0 -
budget cost here in the NW is 1k. assuming no extras such as sparks and decorating.
and using a used RSJ.
probably 2/3k in surrey.Get some gorm.0
