I always thought that you always got sent a new debit card before your old one expired, but I had a look at my Nationwide card yesterday and it expired at the end of February. I have sent them a message, but just wondered if any one else has experienced this.

if you are only noticing now, I take it you do not use the account much?
they may have closed it due to inactivity.0 -
No, I don't use it much, only when I go abroad to avoid charges, but surely, they don't close the account and not let you know, and what happens to the money in the account?0

Not renewing the card does not mean the account is closed.
You have to contact Nationwide - it might be just a case of the card going astray in the post.0 -

I didnt realise there was money in the account - in that case it is highly unlikely to be closed. As above, maybe just a lost in the post card.0
