Before you all go on, yes I know it should of been out of her way, but it wasnt ok shes 8 so i thought it would be ok.
I am selling some school practice exam papers and my lovely monster of a child has tried to do the exams!!!!!! They were going for a really good price as well.
I have emailed the highest bidder (were due to close tonight) saying that i am going to cancel her bids and explained the whole situation fully. I also offered if she still wanted them to do them really cheap as it was only in pencil what little miss divadee did.
I had to tell her as i marketed the papers as brand new so only right i tell her!!!
What would you lot do? Just cancel the listing now you have told her or what for a reply? I could buy another set of the papers tomorrow if they are still available which i think they are!!! Just checked and i can still get them they are £4.95 and they are going for over double that at the moment.
I could kill my daughter right now

I think its always best to be honest with the bidders and explain why you are canceling the item. You never know, they might just want a discount!

could you not photocopy them? I dont know what exam papers look like but you may be able to go to a printers that do photocopying of large pages (Is it a3?) and then fold them and staple to make it into the book?0

thats what i thought!!!! I hope she understands.
I have rubbed out the answers and sent her a photo of how they look now. Dont look half bad really, and have offered her discount as 2 of the 3 papers are still perfect!!0 -

they are a3, dont know if i could photocopy them, as they are copyrighted and they are double sided so dont know if the printers would do them. That is a good idea though!!!
I will let you know what the lady says!!0 -

Just like all books, exam papers are copyrighted either by the author or the exam board that created them. If you can get permission to copy them (like schools do automatically for their current students) it still may be less expensive to buy new copies for the £4.95 as would think photocopied papers would fetch less.0 -
no reply from the 2 emails i sent
should i just cancel the auction now after cancelling her bids?
I have looked at her stuff she buys and it would seem that she is a teacher or a tutor all she buys is maths stuff, books and cd roms and practice papers.
If she was going to photocopy them herself for her class, then the rubbings out wouldnt show anyway!!
I just dont know what to do as i dont want to get neg feedback if she wins the auction and then i dont send them
come on guys what should i do??????0 -
Wait until it closes and email her again - maybe she's out today?Gwlad heb iaith, gwlad heb galon0

thanks hun. i think i will. mr divadee reckons to knock a third off the price if she is happy with that, there are 3 exam papers in all. That would compensate for the rubbed one if she feels she cant use it.
is that a reasonable form of compensation ?0 -
well she won the auction so instead of sending her an invoice i sent her another email.
I have offered the third off in that email or the option to cancel the auction completely and no further action taken (i wont mind taking the hit of the FVF it was completely my fault).
I will let you know the outcome of this0 -
Hi,
I think you have been really reasonable. My DH did a very similar thing to that to me! Was selling a fab childrens book - perfect condition - also going for a good price, when he spilt coffee all over it! The auction had already finished - the book was on the table ready to be wrapped to be sent. Needless to say - I really couldn't send it - the pages were all stuck together, so refunded the buyers money and sent an apology email - along with a picture to back up the email.
