Had a claim with Lloyds for around £4k. They replied rejecting the claim and gave me till this weekend to respond, but I have missed it. I had drafted a letter to send to them but didn't get round to printing straight away. When I realised I was running out of time went to print and had lost it. I didn't have time to collect all the info again. I really feel I have a strong case but dont know what to do now. Just feel so stupid for missing it, really need the money!!!

Hi there
Was this in regards of a ppi reclaim?
If so then write back and tell them you were held up and you would be so grateful if they could reconsider by just giving you a few extra days.
May I ask more details?
Such as the date on their letter and was it enclosed with an acceptance slip and so on?
Did they suggest the financial ombudsman service (FOS) if you did not agree with their decision?
Sorry if I have mis read on this. The one and only "Dizzy Di"

No it was for bank charges. There was no slip included and as far as I remember they didn't mention the fos. Sorry not got letter to hand at the moment. Are they likely to extend the period, knowing that it could lead to them paying out such a large sum. Its frustrating, I first submitted the claim back in Jult 2007 and have waited this long, now I might have missed out.
We built up the charges when I had been made redundant in 2003 ad couldn't make payments. I had approached the bank and explained situation at the time and they refused to help.0 -

Hi there
I would definately ask them to give you another chance.
I am having a few problems with these myself and its the other way round at the moment, I'm waiting for a few acceptance slips and a refund as from November 2009, however this is in regards of PPI.
But I would definately ask them to reconsider this.
I will send you a pm in a min too.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"

Hand write a letter stating that you are considering your response and will respond accordingly shortly and date it just before their deadline and post it.
Sort out your computer issues and then properly respond to them.0 -

“The Ends justify the Means!” - It’s a bit Machiavellian, isn’t it?
Whatever happened to morality?

To be honest, I can't really see the point of not hitting their deadline since all they would do is either (a) treating it as a new complaint or (b) re open the old one.
Definitely Machiavellian and definitely not something I would necessarily do, pmsl!0
