I now have a lovely garden planter made by myself and i am feeling very proud as it will be perfect for herbs and salads.

One question, shall i use varnish to treat the wood or the wood treatment like you use on a fence or both?

thanks

I would just sand it .

No Varnish , No Wood Treatment .
Ok might not last as long , but then make a new one ,, keep the natural look.
