Tesco - Half price home insurance

Hi
Just a quick query regarding Tesco Home Insurance....
I obtained a quote last week - Buildings & Content, acc damage, personal possessons etc and the quote was £485. I saved the quote as my policy is not due for renewal until next month.
Yesteday in Tesco I picked up a leaflet stating 'home insurance half price' online for quotes between 19 July and 6 August. So I thought I'd get another quote.
Amending all the details so I was getting like for like cover, the premium was....£364. Still not as cheap as Barclays.
Do you think this is misleading and I can phone and to dispute their half price offer. Thanks.

I would suspect not. They make underwriting decisions based on a whole host of factors, and premiums can vary from day to day. They will probably argue that the premium for that day would be about £700 because of new underwriting information or something.
Mine is up for renewal with them, and my renewal quote is £450. The cheapest other quote I've got is £250 - so guess which one I'm picking. Even if I rang Tesco to query why the half price offer wasn't available to existing customers I can still get it for more than half price. So I think it may be a gimmick to get interest.
Also, I didn't want to renew with them as last year they actually set up TWO policies for me, and charged me for both of them! It took ages to sort out, and even longer and even more phone calls to get some compensation out of them for it. So I've added them to my list of insurers I will insure with only if they are significantly cheaper, and not at all if I can avoid it! (It is a list of three).0
