Ebay taken £415 from my bank !!

Please, please can anyone help !!
A few months ago I had 100's of items put onto my ebay account for sale fraudulently.
This issue was rectified quite quickly by ebay and I thought that was the end of it.
Ebay then started demanding listing fees from me of £415 !!!
I have now fired about 10 emails off to them which have gone to different members of staff each time and the answers have been pretty standard.
Anyway now they are saying they will refund me in 5-7 days.I have asked for an address to write to to complain but they appear to have ignored that request.
I even cancelled my paypal account AND bank details but they still deducted money from my bank account.
As you can guess I am fuming. If anyone can give me any advice I'd be extremeley grateful as impossible to find a phone number or address for these people !!

Many thanks in advance for your help

I think you can tell your bank that the ebay withdrawal was unauthorised and get them to reverse it.

You certainly don't want to start court proceeding when they've said they are refunding. You'd almost certainly lose the £30 it would cost to start the case.

Have you got proof that Ebay accepted that you weren't liable for the fees?

Yes, it just strikes me as essential that you have proof that Ebay admitted you had no liability for the fees. I'd write or fax them - preferably write, sending the letter by special delivery, giving them 14 days to refund the fees. In the letter you should state that after 14 days you will commence legal action through the small claims court.

they have said they will refund fees in 5-7 days but that may mean i cant pay my mortgage because they took the money. it is also impossible to find both phone number or address for them even tho i have asked them. will go online tomorrow and look at companies house to hopefully get an address for them.

    thanks again

Then definitely go to your bank and tell them thet you want the transaction reversed immediately.

They make a big thing of the direct debit guarantee. Use it.

If they try and tell you they can't, insist on speaking to someone higher up the chain until you get satisfaction.

I agree here, this direct debit was not authorised by yourself so you have to get it back.
