Garden Stone Circle

Don't know if anyone can help but we bought a 2.4 m stone circle kit for the garden to put a table and chairs on. We had someone out today who has quoted us £300 + materials to lay it for us. We thought this seemed a bit excessive, although they will need to concrete it and level it out. What do you think? Is it excessive, or were we being naiive? Thanks in advance.

I would want a long day to do it, and thats if the area is cleared and reasonably flat.
before I start . The finished circle , has to be very level , or as soon as you put a table on it , the table will rock.

Is it excessive ??? I don't know ... if I did not DIY , it would not get done.

Why not do it yourself and save a few quid?

Mark it out on the ground.
    Dig down a bit.
    Fill with hardcore.
    Compact hardcore.
    Layer of sharp sand.
    Compact sharp sand.
    Cement.
    Lay flags.
Brush in dry mortar mix in the joints
    Done. :T

How long do they say it'll take? Bloke I know who does garden type stuff - fencing etc, charges £80 - £90 per day plus materials (can't remember the exact amount.) Plus the same daily rate for his helper if he needs one. That's in the Midlands.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.
