toilet flushes and go's on and on....

Hope someone can help, basically when i flush the toilet it used to just be the standard minute or so beofe it cut out, well now it go's on for ages and ages - at least 3 minutes in time before it cuts out.
Any idea's what the cause of this might be?

asssume you mean re filling the cistern up?
maybe some grit in the inlet valve. try cleaning it out or change the seal, or just replace the whole valve. they are not very expensive.Get some gorm.0 -
hi ormus, yes i mean filling the cistern back up, sorry not very good and explaining things that i dont understand!
So, if i turn off the water then flush the toilet to empty the cistern, then have a play about with the 'valve' by cleaning it or replacing it?0 -
Take the lid off clean off the lime scale and adjust the flow and see if it helps.0
