Tomb Raider 1 & logic3 gamepad?

I have just installed Tomb Raider 1 onto my pc but I seem to have a problem with the controls, I can control the character (lara croft with the big boobies) with the keyboard but I get no response with my logic3 usb gamepad - when I try to use it nothing happens it’s as if the gamepad isn’t plugged in.

I realise the original Tomb Raider is a very old game from the mid nineties but my brand new logic3 gamepad SHOULD be compatible – perhaps its got something to do with the gamepad plugged into a usb socket instead of into the game port
I know the gamepad does work so does anyone know how to configure the game to accept orders from my gamepad

I don’t know if it make any difference but the game is from “sold out software” and has “NOW technology”
It took me ages to just configure the sound on the game and even now its still very patchy sounding.

I can't quite remember, but is the original Tomb Raider a native Windows game or is it DOS based? If it's the latter, you may be better running it through Dosbox

If it's Windows based, it should work as long as your joypad is recognised in the Game Controllers settings in control panel. Does the game itself have an options menu? Usually you can select input method.

The original Tomb Raider is a D.O.S based game as far as I can tell - so what is Dosbox and will it work on a xp system
I think the later editions of the game were windows based

no it the original Tomb Raider - my graphics card is an intergrated one which uses 64mb of shared memory (I have plenty of ram so 64mb is no loss) so my graphics card would not be powerful enough to handle the anniversary edition

Thanks alien but I tried the link and didnt understand much of what they were talking about, when it comes to using dos command prompt I am lost, is there an easer program that will let me use my gamepad to control lara croft (if I knew it was going to be this hard to set up I would have bought an easier game like doom or something)

I was suggesting that you buy and play that version instead, but if you feel your PC isn't up to the task you might as well ignore that particular post.
