Thanks all, this is so helpful. Im going to have a go with some seeds and buy some plugs as well. Tomatos and lettuce sound fun too so will have a go with those too. This is going to be AWESOME

Most of the gardening places have a value range, got some from B&Q for my baskets. At 38p per packets it's worth having a go at a few. I am trying lobelia, busy lizzies, petunias, pansies. Some are starting to germinate after a week in an unheated propagator on the windowsill.0

There's a local nursery by us that sells tiny busy lizzies for you to pot on which I did last year. It was a couple of quid for 45 plants and they all thrived. They also do the same with pelargoniums. Anywhere near you that do the same sort of thing?All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
